Hello,
We just want to say a big "Thank You" for all those who were able to make it to yesterdays event, Also want to thank you those who sent us the best wishes.
For those who were not able to make it, I would like to summarize on what went there.
1) We started with Meet and Greet, So we introduce ourself with fellow telanganites in charlotte area.
2) Shailendra spoke about telangana culture and festivals.
3) We played a game where a parent will explain the meaning of presented telangana words to win a gift for their KID. Words included Sopati, Paitapulu, Kheesa etc.,. Now figure how many of you would know the meaning of the those.
Lunch:
4) We planned the menu to be authentic telangana food. Potluck participants put their best effort to make it as close as possible. We had pacchi pulusu, dabal ka meeta, pappu charu, kheema biryani, Ugadi Pacchadi(Telangana Version...:-).) and many more options.
5) We had egg hunt in the park for kids. Some small ones took parents help. We made sure no one is disoppointed in finding eggs.
6) Kids played musical chairs amidst telangana songs blowing out in the speakers.
7) Now, Ladies joined the fun with their round of musical chairs.
8) Men, AKA big boys played spoon-lemon running. Ananth made it to the finishline before all of us took like two steps.
9) Tug of war for kids, women and men. 3 rounds.
10) Finished with Holi Colors. Kids enjoyed it really well. They cant wait for next event.
In charlotte, we were scattered, we didnt know each other until last 3 months. Then some of us got together, thanks to internet, we met once before on jan 31st first time ever, in the middle of a snow storm, hey, we are not used to snow in charlotte. Then we planned this event. In the beginning, we were contemplating what to do, how to do? Now, after this event, everything looked so easy. Put our hands together, we went from a small group of people to an organization in three months.
Again, a special thank you to Sathosh for planning food for the event and Srikanth for making the website.
We are going to do another event in June-July timeframe. Until then, Keep Smiling..
